Offerings Found

A large variety of objects were found in the offering-burial complexes of the Pyramid of the Moon. Pieces of obsidian were abundant; among them were knives, human figures (left) and one piece, referred to as an "undulating eccentric" (right) made of mecca obsidian (black with red streaks). It is believed that the form of this piece is related to the beam of lightening of the god Tlaloc.

Among the most outstanding offerings were two anthropomorphic figures of greenstone that were found in the central part of Burial 2 (left). Each was part of a grouping of martial or symbolic objects.
