Offerings at the Feathered Serpent Pyramid: Ceramics

Tlaloc Vessels in Grave 14Tlaloc vesselReconstructed crater found Grave 14The burial complex and caches at the Feathered Serpent Pyramid did not include a wide variety of ceramic offerings. They were limited to so-called Tlaloc jars (Photos left) and a few other kinds of vessels (Photo right). In some cases, the contents of the vessels, rather than the receptacles themselves, may have been the principal offerings. At least four Tlaloc jars have been found on the top of the Feathered Serpent Pyramid. Two Tlaloc jars were discovered in Grave 14.
