March 16 (Saturday): ARI will host one of dozens of booths at the 2013 Arizona Archaeology Expo. This year's Expo will be held at Historic Horseshoe Ranch on the Agua Fria National Monument, less than 2 hours' drive north of Phoenix.
Archaeology and history buffs of all ages can try ancient technologies, make crafts, and tour local archaeological sites. Discover how prehistoric and historic people thrived in Arizona's harsh environment. Find out what archaeologists do in their jobs and see how we learn about and protect our state's precious archaeological sites.

Directions: Travel north on I-17 and take the Bloody Basin Road exit (Exit 259) just south of Cordes Junction. Drive east several miles to the Ranch, following the signs.

March 23 (Saturday): Join us at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center for engaging activities like ancient technology demonstrations, guided hikes of the rock art site, an agave roast, and even a mock archaeology dig for kids.
Deer Valley Rock Art Center is an archaeology museum and 47-acre Sonoran Desert preserve. It has the largest concentration of Native American petroglyphs in the Phoenix Valley.
Event Hours: 10 am - 4 pm. Free!

The museum is located approximately 2 miles north of Highway 101 and 2 miles west of I-17.
