This summer, the ARI Public Outreach team is participating in both Petroglyph Pathfinders Summer Day Camp sessions at Deer Valley Rock Art Center (http://dvrac.asu.edu/events_camp). The ARI presentation includes a discussion of why archaeologists dig square holes, how archaeology is done, and why pothunting is so harmful to archaeology. The kids also may try their hands at the pump drill, handle prehistoric artifacts from the Southwest, and twist cotton fibers into yarn.
