Contents: Stage I Groundstone Analysis

Description: Stage I Groundstone Analysis was designed to assign artifact and material classification to each item. Stone artifacts modified by grinding were included in this analysis. Other variables recorded included fragmentary or whole, grain size, and presence or absence of pigment. Certain classes of artifacts were selected for Stage 3 Analysis. These include axes (S3GA), shaft straightners (S3GS), metates (S3GM), and special ground-stone artifacts ().
