The Roosevelt Community Development Study (RCDS) was conducted by a team of researchers from Desert Archaeology, Inc. of Tucson. RCDS fieldwork at 27 sites was undertaken between June 1991 and June 1992. The final reports were published in 1994. The purpose of the study was to understand the nature of the transition from the pre-Classic occupation to the later Classic platform mound communities. Specific studies focus upon prehistoric use of natural resources, continuity and change in material culture, demography, aggregation, exchange, and interaction.
