Table: RCDHSTON

Contents: Handstone Analysis

Description: Handstone is a category that describes tools that do not have specific attributes to allow them to be grouped with artifacts such as manos, polishing stones, or pestles. Pottery anvils, however, are included in this category. 42% of the 335 handstones were analyzed. Microscopic evidence of use-wear damage and macroscopic evidence of motor habits were used to identify specific attributes that could be linked to behavior.
