Information Technology at ARI

ARI uses advanced information technology to support research with the curated collections and archives, as well as multimedia input and output of data, statistical analysis, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), relational database management, Web based data access, and public outreach.

The IT staff plans, develops, operates, and maintains ARI data management, storage, and network infrastructure. Research Assistants are integrally involved in all of these activities and obtain advanced training in data management, and various network and software applications.

ARI actively encourages training in a wide variety of information technology concepts and software applications. Research Assistants complete tutorials in Network Administration, web development, database management, graphics, Geographic Information Systems, and electronic publishing.
